In 1979 a group of five civil engineers with large design experience founded PROJEGUI.
The company focus its activity on the design of civil engineering structures, with emphasis on structural and hydraulic design projects. Although most of its clients were initially based on the north region of Portugal, over the years the company extended its activity to the rest of the country. More recently, the company has targeted foreign markets and has already successfully completed design projects in a variety of countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Venezuela and São Tomé and Príncipe.
The increasing international character of Projegui has been accomplished by the permanent team of civil engineers recruited from top Portuguese universities who are familiar with state of the art software and with the application of several design codes including European and American standards.
Projegui places a great deal of concern on the quality of its design projects. In addition to the permanent staff, the company resorts to the assistance of a panel of external consultants with strong scientific and technical background.
Moreover, Projegui also works in straight collaboration with scientific institutions such as the University of Porto. In this context, it is involved in the supervision of jointly proposed research projects and it offers final year graduates in civil engineering the possibility of carrying out their final year dissertation in a business environment.
